The Bridgewater-Raritan Middle School served as the gracious host when the New Jersey Music Educators Association sponsored its annual Middle School Orchestra Festival on Wednesday, March 18.
The festival attracted seven other middle school groups to play along with the home side in a concert that began at 9 a.m. and ran through the afternoon in the Bridgewater-Raritan Middle School auditorium.
The day was launched and capped with performances by the Bridgewater-Raritan Middle School Orchestras.
The 7th Grade students started the festival at 9 a.m. under the direction of Tim Nuzzetti. They played "Soul Bossa Nova" by Quincy Jones, arranged by Robert Longfield.
Bridgewater-Raritan’s 8th Grade Orchestra students then finished the day with a performance at 1:30 p.m., playing for their director, Caty Butler. The 8th Graders performed Force of Nature by Brian Balmages.
“The is was an awesome experience for us,” Ms. Butler said in the auditorium in between performances. “ We held this before, but this is the biggest one with seven other schools.”
