Knowledge about the growth and life cycle of a trout fish has been an ongoing educational topic for 7th Grade students at the Bridgewater-Raritan Middle School.
These students are learning about trout in Jennifer Johnson’s Science class.
“Our 7th Graders have been hard at work with our Trout in the Classroom project, which began back in October, when we received rainbow trout eggs.” Ms. Johnson reported.
She continued to explain about the project.
“Students have been learning firsthand about conservation as they care for our growing trout. They have been observing their development, collecting data, and testing the water to make sure conditions stay just right,” she said.
Ms. Johnson revealed the future of these fish.
“Along the way, they’ve seen how even small changes in the environment can affect the health of living things. As the year goes on, we’ll continue monitoring and learning from our trout.”
Ms. Johnson reported that the fish will eventually make their move from the Middle School.
“And at the end of the year, we’ll release them into a local stream to support real-world conservation efforts.”
