MS turkey trot

A healthy walk went a long way to enhancing the Thanksgiving spirit in the Bridgewater-Raritan school community.

The 13th Turkey Trot was staged in the Bridgewater-Raritan Middle School gymnasium on the eve of Thanksgiving, Wednesday, November 26.

The annual Middle School tradition is spearheaded by the school’s guidance counselors and Health and Physical Education Teachers.

During their regular physical education classes, students are asked to donate at least $1, walk circles around the gym floor to raise funds to donate to families in need throughout the Bridgewater-Raritan Regional School District

According to Lisa Lattarulo, the school district’s Supervisor of K-8 School Counseling and Wellness, each dollar donated is used to purchase holiday gifts for students and their families. Students and faculty who donated were entered into a raffle to win prizes.

The event raised $ 1,278.00.

“T is a wonderful community event in which the entire school community comes together in the Giving Spirit to help Bridgewater and Raritan families enjoy the holidays,” Miss Lattarulo said.
