Middle School 8th grade danc

The 8th Grade students are going out in style at the Bridgewater-Raritan Middle School.

The Bridgewater-Raritan Middle School Student Council, which is under the guidance of devoted Advisors Kim Pratt and Megan Wilkinson, made sure of that when it sponsored the Sunset Serenade Dance on Friday, May 30.

According to Ms.Pratt, more than 500 students poured into this summer-ready event, first passing the Tiki Hut, compliments of Mary Kate Ambrose of the Art department.

Hibiscus lanterns welcomed guests, lining a palm walk promenade leading to the dance floor, the tiki lounge, and the food and games areas. Many of the lanterns and palms were created months in advance by Student Council members.

Students enjoyed the large footprint of the event spanning several areas to roam about under the magical lights and epic sound of DJ Sergio.

The menu was comprised of food from Randazzo’s in Raritan; students consumed a record number of 6-foot subs, along with salads and tasty desserts

The Middle School PTO also supported the event with donations of many treats and platters, as well as a good number of parent volunteers to help serve food.

“With a games area, dance floor, and tiki lounge, there was something for everyone to enjoy,” Ms. Pratt concluded.
