There is confidence in the air—and plenty of basketballs going through the net, too.
That best describes the attitude and skills that reside in the Bridgewater-Raritan Middle School gymnasium, the home of a talented group of 8th and 7th Grade boys’ basketball teams.
The Bridgewater-Raritan Middle School 2024-2025 boys’ basketball season was launched–along with some basketballs- on Tuesday, December 10, in the school’s gymnasium.
Bridgewater-Raritan Middle School’s 8th Grade squad, guided by veteran coach Mike Geremia, kicked off the doubleheader in the afternoon with a convincing 56-20 victory over the Clinton Township Middle School.
Bridgewater-Raritan followed with another dominating effort when the Middle School coasted to a 52-11 victory over Clinton Township in the 7th Grade meeting. Bridgewater-Raritan’s 7th Grade team is guided by coach John Evancho.
The scoreboard provided support to the confidence that is carried by Bridgewater Raritan's Middle School teams.
The current 8th Grade roster contains the bulk of a group of players who stormed to a 13-0 record and to the 7th Grade championship of the Central Jersey Junior Basketball League last winter.
“We are very excited and a really good group of players,” Coach Geremia declared. “We have big aspirations for this season.”
He added:
“We feel 100 percent that we will have a good season.”
Two of his standout 8th Graders, Alex Simpson and Brycen Honis, agreed with their coach.
“We play well together and we have good composure,” Alex claimed.
Brycen chipped in with his belief on why the team will soar this winter.
“We have good friendships and we trust each other. We want to win another championship,” Brycen said.
“We want to put another undefeated record on our banner here in the gym,” Alex confirmed.
