Little shop of horrs

Students from the Bridgewater-Raritan High School and Middle School caught a sneak peek of Little Shop of Horrors during a special performance on Thursday morning. April 16.

These students from the Special Education classes were entertained by the cast of the Bridgewater-Raritan Theatre Arts program, who performed the first act of Little Shop of Horrors in the high school’s auditorium.

The Bridgewater-Raritan High School Theatre Arts production of Little Shop of Horrors will kick off with the opening show on Thursday, April 16, at 7 p.m. in the high school’s auditorium.

The high school’s spring musical will continue with a performance on Friday, April 17, at 7 p.m., followed by a matinee show at 2 p.m. and the final production at 7 p.m. on Saturday, April 18.

The special performance held on Thursday, April 16, has been presented by the Theatre Arts program to the Special Education classes for the past three springs.

Annie Higgins, a Special Education Teacher at Bridgewater-Raritan High School, revealed that her students were prepared to serve as attentive audience members.

“We did a lesson on being a good audience member,” Ms. Higgins shared. “We spoke about clapping and staying in your seat.”

She added.

“The kids were excited to see their peers. And they were so good during the entire show.”

Ms. Higgins, a high school colleague, Kyle Murphy, spoke about how his students were thrilled to see the show.

“They want to experience different opportunities to see other students perform,” Mr. Murphy said. “Our kids were so happy to be involved in a special performance.”

An estimated 20 students from Bridgewater-Raritan Middle School joined in on the fun.

“This was such an amazing opportunity for them to see old friends,” said Jessica Staudt, Special Education Teacher at the Bridgewater-Raritan Middle School.

The students crafted a thank-you sign that they presented to the cast at the conclusion of the show.
