The Bridgewater-Raritan High School Forensics Speech and Debate Team competed at the annual Randolph Fall Classic Forensics Tournament on November 15 at Randolph High School, earning strong placements across multiple events.

Here are the achievements accomplished by Bridgewater-Raritan High School students.

Aarush Shah and Shantan Budamakayala placed first in Junior Varsity Public Forum Debate.

Hrishi Patel and Jasmeet Singh placed second in the Varsity Parliamentary Debate.

Anika Lal placed fourth in Novice Impromptu Speaking.

Sanika Jaiswal placed fourth in Varsity Congress.

Achyut Nuli placed sixth in Varsity Original Oratory (OO).

Jack Lee finished as a finalist in Varsity Congress (SC).

In the Novice Finals division of Congress, Arav Jain placed fifth, and Vibha Ananthanarayanan finished as a Finalist.

Additionally, both Anay Gade (Impromptu) and Tharun Naguleswaran (Original Oratory) broke to the semifinals in their events.

In total, dozens of Bridgeater-Raritan students participated across debate and speech categories, continuing the team’s strong early-season performance.

Aarush Shah shared his experience at this tournament.

“I was honestly ecstatic. Winning first with Shantan felt amazing, not just because of the rounds we won, but because we could really feel our work paying off. It was one of those days where everything clicked, and it definitely motivates us for the rest of the season.”

Several other high schools, including Summit, Ridge, Montville, and Hunterdon Central, attended the tournament. Randolph marked the team’s second major competition of the season, following the Phillipsburg Invitational earlier in the fall.

The club will continue its season with upcoming competitions, including the Ridge High School Debates in December.
