A first state sectional football playoff championship in the history of the Bridgewater-Raritan High School has been achieved.
Now, a first state group football playoff championship is the next goal for Bridgewater-Raritan High School.
Bridgewater-Raritan High School established school history when it won the North Jersey, Section 2, Group 5 state sectional football playoff championship with a 21-14 victory over Bayonne High School on Friday, November 14, before an energetic crowd at Baslione Memorial Field in Bridgewater.
Newly refurbished Baslione Memorial Field will serve as the venue once again on Friday, November 21, when Bridgewater-Raritan High School plays Passaic County Tech in the Group 5 state playoff semifinal. Kick off is set for 6 p.m.
A victory over Passaic County Tech would land Bridgewater-Raritan High School in the Group 5 state playoff championship game to be played between November 28-December 3 at either MetLife Stadium or Rutgers University.
If Bridgewater-Raritan does advance to the Group 5 state final, its opponent will be the winner of the other state semifinal on Friday, November 21, between Washington Township High School and Kingsway Regional High School.
