A highly successful run was extended by the Bridgewater-Raritan High School Marching Band.
The Marching Band capped the competitive season this fall with a second-place finish and captured the Caption Award for Best Visual Performance in the New Jersey Marching Band Directors Association (NJMBDA) state championships at The College of New Jersey on Sunday, November 3.
With its runner-up finish in the Class AAA competition, Bridgewater-Raritan has ended in the top three placements for the fourth straight year. Bridgewater-Raritan won the Class AA state championship in 2021.
In the Class AAA, competition on November 3, Edison High School won the championship while Scotch Plains-Fanwood High School finished just behind Bridgewater-Raritan in third place.
Equally impressive were the efforts outside TCNJ’s Lions Stadium in Eing.
Nick Mossa, who is the C-Band Director with Dr. Tom Bourgault at Bridgewater-Raritan High School, shared the tireless performance provided by the Bridgewater-Raritan High School Band Parent Association.
“The BRHS Band Parent Association again organized and ran the event at TCNJ as a volunteer force on behalf of NJMBDA, now for the fourth time,” Mr. Mossa revealed. “The parent volunteers, working closely with TCNJ police and personnel, ran the parking lots, concession sales, program sales, field coordination, and more, making it a true BR community experience for our students, albeit a few miles away from home.”
Mr. Mossa was impressed with how his students grew through the year.
"The Marching Band staff and I are all proud of the season we had with this group. The band made incredible progress between August and now, and we enjoyed a lot of memorable performances and experiences along the way."
