The complements were glowing as well as plentiful.

Both Ashlen Udell and Baron Caromano each applauded the performances of their band students with shining reports.

And why not, the Bridgewater-Raritan Middle School’s Winter Band Concert was a splendid presentation that was delivered on Thursday evening, January 11, in the school’s auditorium.

It was an enthused audience that gained the attention of Ms. Udell, the Bridgewater-Raritan Middle School 8th Grade Band and Wind Ensemble Director.

“A great moment of the evening was seeing the auditorium full of families and friends supporting all of the musicians throughout the evening. You could literally feel the positive energy from the stage,’’ Ms.Udell revealed.

She also shared numerous positive reports on how well her students played their instruments.

“The 8th Grade Band and Wind Ensemble really performed at their highest level at the concert! I was impressed with their musicality and attention to detail. I can not pick a favorite piece because they were all so well done,’’ Ms. Udell said.

Mr. Caramano, the middle school’s 7th Grade Band and Jazz Ensemble Director, also provided a sparkling report.

“The Jazz Ensemble had a solid performance and I’m really pleased with all of the soloists and their improvisations. Improvising as a young musician can be really daunting, but the students showed great confidence, leading to a pleasant presentation,’’ Mr Caromano said.

He also believed that his band equally shined.

“The 7th Grade Band had a fine concert as well,’’ he claimed. “They played with great conviction and cohesiveness, resulting in an uplifting performance, I look forward to future performances.’’

Due to the rain storms forcing the cancellation of all district schools in Bridgewater-Raritan on Wednesday January 10, the Winter Orchestra Concert was shifted to the first act on Thursday, January 11. The Winter Band Concert was then the nightcap on January 11.

“It was delightful to see all of our orchestras and bands on the same evening. I am really proud of all of our students,’’ Mr. Caromano said.

Here are video clips to enjoy of both the 7th and 8th Grade Bands at the Winter Concert.
