Iconic women are honored during Middle School's poster contest

A poster depicting one of the greatest female tennis players of all-time was selected as the winner when the Bridgewater-Raritan Middle School held a contest to celebrate Women’s History Month.

According to Priscilla Aniegbuna, who is the 8th Grade Assistant Principal at the Bridgewater-Raritan Middle School, the school’s Equity Committee sponsored a poster contest for Women's History Month.

"All students were invited to create a poster featuring a woman, past or present, who has made a significant impact on our world. Students were asked to include a quote, details about her life, the impact she has made, and a portrait," Ms. Aniegbuna explained.

Gia Shah, a 7th Grader, emerged as the winner of the contest. She created a poster about the legendary tennis great, Billie Jean King.

The runner-up was 8th Grader Adit Sinha, who crafted a poster about former Prime Minister of India, Indira Gandhi.

Both winners received a gift card as their prize.

“We are grateful for all the students who submitted beautiful and well-researched posters about these important women.  All posters will be on display within the school building for the remainder of the month,” Ms. Aniegbuna said.
