Daily Announcements 2-7-23 - Tuesday

Chorale meets TB 10/11

7th gr Band meets TB 7 / 8

8th gr Band meets TB 4

Both Odyssey of the Mind teams meet today. 

Team 1 will meet in Cafeteria A and Team 5 will meet in A-45.

Reminder to students regarding playoff basketball games. Any student attending must arrive and be seated with their parent/guardian at all times. Appropriate behavior and school rules should be adhered to. Failure to follow these guidelines may result in removal from the game and/or school consequences.

All Student Council members should plan to attend a 20 minute meeting in the auditorium this Wednesday, February 8 at the start of TB 12. Please ask your teacher for permission to attend. You will be dismissed back to TB 12 at the conclusion of the meeting.

 Anyone interested in participating in the spring travel track and field season should attend an informational meeting today, time block 12 in Room B-32.

Whether you are rooting for the Eagles or the Chiefs, show your Super Bowl spirit by wearing your favorite team’s shirt or jersey to school this Friday, February 10. Student Council members sign in with your grade level advisor.

The School Store will be open Wednesday during all lunches.

Attention all 7th and 8th grade boys interested in trying out for the boys lacrosse team. There will be a brief informational meeting today at the beginning of time block 3 in Cafeteria A. See Mr. Jarvis or Mr. Geremia if you have any questions.

Today’s Assembly Programs are as follow:

Grade 8 - 9:15 to 10:15

Interested in participating in the Table Tennis Club? It runs Monday through Friday in the gym from February 6th to February 17th. You will need to have paid the activity fee and turned in a permission slip in order to participate. Both can be accessed on the school website and our Google Classroom page. Lost and Found items are on a table outside Cafeteria A. Stop by to look for that missing sweatshirt, jacket, or water bottle. Items remaining this afternoon will be donated to charity.

As part of Black History Month, today we would like to recognize Congressman John Lewis.  He was an American politician and civil rights activist who served in the United States House of Representatives from 1987 until his death in 2020. He participated in the 1960 Nashville sit-ins, the Freedom Rides,  and was one of the "Big Six" leaders of groups who organized the 1963 March on Washington. Often called  “one of the most courageous persons the Civil Rights Movement ever produced,” John Lewis dedicated his life to protecting human rights and securing civil liberties.  He stated:  "You are a light. You are the light. Never let anyone — any person or any force — dampen, dim or diminish your ligh
